Yi Kuan International Trading Explores Partnership Opportunities with Asia University

Chairman Chun-Hsien Wu of Yi Kuan International Trading Co., Ltd. was invited to visit Asia University, where he met with Professor Yu-Cheng Chiang, Associate Dean and faculty member of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology, as well as Professor Chieh-Lung Ho from the School of Post-Baccalaureate Veterinary Medicine. The discussions focused on food safety, laboratory testing technologies, pet health, and related industry applications, while also exploring opportunities for industry–academia collaboration between a local enterprise and one of Taiwan's leading universities.

For many years, Yi Kuan International Trading Co., Ltd. has specialized in international meat trading, food supply chain integration, and quality management. The company believes that sustainable growth in the food industry depends not only on a reliable supply chain but also on the integration of professional laboratory testing, biotechnology, and scientific quality management to meet growing market expectations for food safety, product traceability, and consistent quality.

During the visit to the Department of Medical Laboratory Science and Biotechnology at Asia University, both parties exchanged insights on food testing, quality monitoring, biotechnology applications, and the practical needs of the food industry. By combining the university's research expertise with the company's industry experience, the collaboration is expected to create new opportunities in food safety assurance, product quality enhancement, and laboratory testing applications.

In addition, with the rapid expansion of the pet industry, increasing attention is being given to pet food, pet healthcare, and related product development. Yi Kuan International Trading also met with representatives from the School of Post-Baccalaureate Veterinary Medicine to discuss emerging trends in the pet industry. Looking ahead, the company hopes to combine veterinary expertise, nutritional science, and its supply chain capabilities to explore new opportunities in pet nutrition, pet food innovation, and animal health solutions.

Chairman Chun-Hsien Wu emphasized that the role of a local enterprise should extend beyond supplying products. He believes businesses should actively engage with academic institutions, professional talent, and research resources to foster innovation and sustainable development. As one of central Taiwan's leading universities, Asia University possesses strong expertise in medical laboratory science, biotechnology, and veterinary medicine. By combining these academic strengths with industry insights and market needs, both sectors can contribute to advancing the food and pet industries toward higher standards of professionalism, safety, and global competitiveness.

Yi Kuan International Trading stated that it will continue to focus on key areas including food safety, international supply chain management, the pet industry, and industry–academia collaboration. The company remains committed to building partnerships with local academic institutions and believes that integrating the strengths of industry and higher education will foster innovation in the food and pet-related sectors while creating long-term value for regional industrial development.

This visit represents more than an exchange between industry and academia—it reflects Yi Kuan International Trading's ongoing commitment to strengthening professional expertise, enhancing quality-driven management, and exploring new opportunities for sustainable growth. Moving forward, the company will continue to uphold its core values of professionalism, integrity, and continuous learning while promoting collaboration and innovation across the food and pet-related industries.
